FirstClass Conferencing

This is the O U 's message board system - a brilliant way of contacting fellow students who live in the same area, who study the same courses, who share your interests. Simply log in to your home page at www.open.ac.uk with the username and password the O U sent you and select "Your mailbox and discussion forums on Server 1 (or 2, dependng on what course you are studying)" which will take you to your personal desktop on the which O U will have placed links specifically for you. You can add others as you explore and in O U S A signpost you will find over 700 different topics ranging from "The Archers" to Islam; animal rights to baby care; politics and international affairs as well as support groups for your area of study. If you find the system a bit slow then you can send for, or download the FirstClass Client software from the O U's site, but you may have already received a copy of it. We also run regular workshops at our Open Days on how to use First Class.
